I’m Back

I’ve been neglecting you recently.  What with assignments, the school holidays and other commitments, I’ve barely had time to turn around.  Now the kid is settled at school and I’m past the clock-watching hell of the first few days, I seem to be establishing a better routine for myself.  This is mainly what I am up to.

I’m easing back into writing and am planning to attempt to write a Friday flash at least every other week.  I’ve also been submitting everything in my unpublished folder as if my life depended on it.

I’m revising like crazy for my exam next month, (a month yesterday, eek) and then I’m preparing to start my next module which  – thankfully –  is more literature and creative writing based.

My novel has taken a back seat recently.  Despite setting myself the goal to finish the first draft by 31st August, I’m still nowhere near finished.  I have managed to sort out a few plot problems, however, so it’s not all bad.

I’ve also decided to do NaNoWriMo this year.  I have an idea for a YA novel which I’m going to experiment with.  I’ve actually read quite a bit of YA recently and am eager to try out writing for a new audience.

On a non-writing note, I am currently setting up a new blog about domestic abuse.  I’ve touched on the subject on here, but I’d like to keep my writing seperate as much as I can.  Three years down the line, I finally feel able to talk about it properly and I’m hoping it might help others.

Anyway, it feels good to be back.

Let me know when that new blog is up and running. It’s an important topic. Let’s break the silence together.

Yes, it’s an adjustment sending the kiddos off to school. Soon, you learn to embrace the time alone and become more productive, well, usually.
