Wow, what a month. After returning from my birthday trip to Dublin with flu, I developed pneumonia and have spent much of March feeling ill. I’ve really struggled with the simple things like the school run, so only the absolute essential things has been done. That’s not to say i haven’t got news, though. Boy, have I got news.
Like Julie Andrews, I’ll start at the very beginning, a very good place to start.
Choose your Online Adventure: The next round of CYOA begins in mid-April and I am beyond excited. I loved being a part of the last series ‘Dust and Death’1 and with this years as yet untitled project featuring zombies, I can’t wait to get started.
Literary Mixtapes – the Movie Project: Another big, exciting project I’m starting in April is the LMT Movie Project. I’m a huge film fan and have always fancied having a go at screenwriting. I will be learning all about screenwriting and adapting PJ Kaiser’s great story ‘Golden Opportunity’ which featured in LMT’s ‘Nothing but Flowers’ anthology. it really will be a golden opportunity for me. See what I did there?
Literary Mixtapes – ‘Deck the Halls’:One of the few things I’ve been working on during March, is my edits for the ‘Deck the Halls’ anthology which should be out in July 2012. I wrote my story ‘Til Death us do Part’ almost eighteen months ago, so going back to it ha been a strange experience.
Best of Friday Flash 2: I woke on Monday morning to an email announcing that my story ‘Blue Tears’ will be included in the upcoming ‘Best of Friday Flash 2’ anthology, also out in July 2012. I love Friday Flash and credit the fact I started to take my writing, in particular short story writing, seriously to FF.
A-Z Blogging Challenge: As if April isn’t going to be hectic enough, I’ve signed up to do the A-Z Blog Challenge again. I took part last year and loved it. I’m trying to come up with a theme, but for the month of APril I will blog every day except Sundays. Lucky you.
Open University: My current module is drawing to a close and my next module starts in May. I’m feeling excited about it, I can see how I’m improving as the course goes along and I’m genuinely excited about the modules I’m picking out to complete my degree. On m last assignment I got the best mark yet. I won’t brag. Actually, I will. (High A :)) Ahem. As you were.
Renishaw Hall: From Easter(ish) onwards, I shall be taking up a role at local stately home Renishaw Hall as a Museum and Galleries host/tour guide. The role will tie in nicely with my OU work and will provide invaluable experience as well as being exciting. They had me at ‘25000 books’!
The kid’s birthday: The kid is four on Friday. Four?! Where did that time go?
I think that’s everything. I really hope that’s everything.
How was your month??
