Lucky Seven.

I was tagged by Annie Evett for a Lucky Seven meme.

The rules are:

1.  Go to page 77 in your current manuscript.

2.  Go to line 7.

3.  Copy down the next 7 lines.

4.  Tag another 7 writers.  (Done on Twitter.)

Simples.  So here goes.  This is taken from my NaNo 2010 novel, which I’ve just turned my attention back to editing/re-writing.  It’s working title is Bobbing For Apples.

“You can’t be here.”
“I just want my daughter.” Dan pushed past her, throwing her against the wall, his hands gripping her wrist.
“Sh-she’s asleep.” Jess tried to wriggle free.  Dan tightened his grip.
“I’m not leaving without her.  You’re not fit to look after a dog never mind a child.” He gripped her face.  She could smell whisky on his breath.
“So, why don’t you trot upstairs and fetch her like a good girl.  Or do I need to make you?”
