This week everything seems to have come to a grinding halt. I knew it would happen, I just didn’t expect is so soon.
I’m still getting words down on my WIP (another 1200 since Sunday) but apart from that, I’m not managing anything other than keeping up with my ever-increasing OU work.
We have been busy with dentist visits and theatre trips this week, which has messed up my plans a little. My house looks like it’s been burgled. I’ve given up even trying to open the playroom door and as a result the mess is spreading through the rest of the house. Santa’s elves would feel very at home here, right now. Also, there is a real danger I may lose my three year-old beneath the ironing pile.
As I write this, my son is making yet more mess, I have a tab open to do an online grocery shop, Dr Faustus sits half-read on the coffee table and there is a cup of coffee going cold in the kitchen.
The area I’m feeling most pressured about is blogging, I always put my blog to the bottom of my to-do list (Yes, I know, I’ve read Kirsten Lamb’s book and everything. I know.) That and Friday Flash, which I have absolutely no idea about yet.
I’m still confident, though. It is only Wednesday, I have all the time in the world. Ha! I’m still optimistic; this is a challenge, it’s supposed to be challenging. Nothing worth having is ever easy and all that jazz.
