I’ve been in a little bit of a quandary with my writing. I’ve been wanting to do something, but not knowing what. After my blog last week about NaNoWriMo, I had made he decision not to take part this year, but I wasn’t really happy with this decision. Then, yesterday, as if by magic, I stumbled upon a link to ROW80 (A Round of Words in 80 days) as I browsed Twitter.
What the heck is ROW80?,I hear you cry. This post says it better than I could, but essentially you set your own writing goals over an eighty day period. These can be anything you like as long as they are measurable. Think of it as a customised NaNo.
So, without further ado, here are my goals.
1. I will write a minimum of 500 words fiction three days a week. I started a writing project earlier this year which ground to a halt as I worked on reworking my novel. I’m planning on picking this up again.
2. I will blog once per week. As part of ROW80, I will be writing bi-weekly check-in posts (on Wednesdays and Sundays) but I will also aim to blog once a week aside from this.
3. I will write a #Fridayflash at least twice per month. I was going to aim for every week, but this seems more realistic.
4. I will submit one story per week. I’ve become really lax about this lately, and it’s something I really need to get on top of again.
Of course, this isn’t going to be easy, this is on top of my studies and mummy-duties, but (for now, at least) I’m confident I can meet these goals.
Let the writing commence!
