Excuses, Excuses, Excuses

I began May with good intentions.  Following the A-Z Challenge, I vowed to blog more regularly and May 1st saw the start of May You Write Your Novel (or MYWYN) – 80k words in 80 days.  Things kind of fell apart at the end of last week.  Let the excuses flow:

I went to Filey for a long weekend, which kind of put a stop to the great start I made on MYWYN.  We had a great time despite the erratic weather and I think the break did me good.  The fresh air seemed to blow the cobwebs from my mind and gave me a much needed energy boost.   Returning on Monday afternoon, I had to tackle the mountain of washing and ironing that a mini break entails.

On top of that, my three year old started nursery today -*sob* – so last night and this morning I was a little emotional and not much good for anything.  After today’s hour long session went amazingly well (he didn’t want to leave) he starts full time tomorrow.  I’m confident that I can spend a good chunk of the three hours he is there writing.

So, while I may be down, I am certainly not out.  I’ll get my blogging and writing back on track and I’ll get there in the end.

With the three hours of added alone time during the day you’ll really be able to focus on your writing. After a couple of days of typing away in silence, you’ll wonder how you ever managed before. 🙂

  2. Hi Emma,

Found your blog through MYWYN so hello 🙂
Lara is right, you’re going to love that extra 3 hours – once you’ve got out of the habit of checking to see why your little one is so quiet!

    Best of luck!
