First of all, apologies for my lack of post yesterday. My boyfriend surprised us with an impromptu trip to Blackpool, which leads me to what would have been yesterdays blog if the sea air hadn’t exhausted me.
We do love to be beside the seaside…
It’s amazing what a bit of fresh air can do for you. On Tuesday I was feeling a little down, exhausted and unmotivated. I woke yesterday morning with that awful feeling of dread. That ‘Ugh, not again’. feeling as I faced what I thought would be another day of cleaning, cooking and more cleaning. The trip to the seaside was a much-needed break for me, and my son who has spent the best part of the month cooped up with chicken pox.
We strolled on the beach, ate chips, played in the arcades (my three year-old loves the 2p machines a little too much, if you ask me), we took a tram ride, we ate ice cream, we watched the toddler have countless goes on a bouncy castle, then we drove home via a lovely pub with a beer garden.
Today’s post is X marks the Spot. A.k.a that wonderful moment when an idea you have been playing with in your head clicks. You uncover the hidden treasure, so to speak. I had that moment late last night/early this morning with an idea I’ve had for a while. I’ve brainstormed, I’ve tried to make a story fit around this snippet of an idea, convinced there was something there just waiting to be discovered. At around 3am, I discovered that priceless nugget. There is no feeling quite like it.
So, today I am full of happy (and caffeine).
