The End

Last night, I finished the first draft of my book!  Just over 90 ooo words.

The hard work is just starting though, half way through I decided to get rid of one of the main characters and change the perspective.  Conflict I added at the end doesn’t fit with what I wrote at the start, these things need sorting out.  There was also one point during NaNoWriMo, where I introduced a witch (Yes, really) and got my main character arrested, which is never mentioned again.

I feel quite optimistic about the next phase.  I’ve written a novel length piece.  That itself is something I never thought I could do.  I struggled, but I never gave up, so no matter how daunting it might seem now to go back in and make it readable, I know I can do it.

I’m taking a break from it now, and concentrating on short story submissions, but my goal is to have the major edits done before the start of NaNo 2011.  That gives me eight month.  Easy, right?
